BEDFORD CENTRAL | VOTER REGISTRATION
On Saturday, May 22nd 2021, members of Bedford Central Presbyterian Church spent the day reaching out to community members regarding the importance of voting. Congregants were stationed at tables in front of the church and actively engaged community members in conversation about the logistics of ranked choice voting, as well registering individuals to vote. It was truly a great moment to witness faith in action.
NYC AGAINST HATE | SHAVUOT DAY OF ACTION
On Sunday May 16th 2021, The Presbytery of NYC joined up with NYC Against Hate Coalition in order to provide training on what to do as a "upstander" when witnessing hate violence. Participants in the event shared personal experiences with hate violence as well as learned practical skills to interrupt harassment safely. In addition, participants also circulated promotional materials to community members as well as held important conversations with relevant stakeholders regarding community led public safety efforts
